A recent Instagram post from the Loveland Foundation (which you should check out and support, they’re amazing) is a reminder:
While a lot of white people are grappling with their own journey of enlightenment, that is not the story. The story is racial equity. The focus needs to be there, not on the newly guilty white people.
If you are one of these newly guilty white people, lean on your personal friends for personal support. Reach out to me. Journal. Learn.
If you came here looking for my take and perhaps the story of my journey and how this all wraps into depression and mental health: right now, my energies are elsewhere.
I will share, instead, a “pace yourself” guide.
And remember: this movement is not about white people. We are supporters and allies. We are not the movement.
